News Women commuters to get new mobile telephone (January 29, 2010) A new text service that transforms a mobile telephone into a personal safety alarm was launched today. Aimed at women commuters, the system allows users to alert friends or family when they get into trouble. Once  the alarm goes off the location of the commuter is found by triangulation. The location is then texted to designated emergency contacts.  Assuming you get home safely, you simply turn off the alert.  Click here to return to the News page
