News X Factor winner - phone in (December 14, 2009) The X Factor final had more voters than the amount who turned out to vote in Britain's last General Election.  20 Million people saw on TV Joe McElderry from Newcastle. Overall 10 million people voted for the two semi - finalists.  Joe beat off his rival.
