A senior social worker who blew the whistle on the Baby P scandal is suing Haringey Council for victimisation. 

A former social worker has brought the claim against the council after it refused to interview her for a social worker position when she responded to its national recruitment campaign. 

The social worker raised the alarm of the borough's mishandling of  childcare cases in 2007, but claims to be forced out the following month.

The Watford Employment Tribunal has stated that the social worker has an " arguable case".
