Human Cloning or the sale of your future baby ?

Would you sell your future baby ?

As more couples turn to egg donors to help them become parents, the price tag for women willing to donate their genes is growing in the U.S.A.  Is this a step to far ? What are the ethics at play here?

Advertisements are placed in U.S. magazines looking for a dream egg and the price can be as high as $ US 45,500.00.

Egg donation is becoming big business in the U.S.A.

Unlike here in the UK, where the law keeps donors' compensation capped at £250.00.

In America women can legally receive large sums for their time and trouble.

The result is an ever-increasing network of fertility clinics, egg brokers and agencies tempting hopeful parents with images of children and offering potential donors the chance to pay their way through their 20's and early 30's.

Around one in seven couples are now affected by infertility and that figure is rising, as more women delay motherhood until later in life.

The rising demand has spawned an entirely new business.

People are asking for genius egg donors.

Along with brains, beauty and health, there are other demands, such as religion and race.

Morally there are issues.  Will a person with half you DNA be on the streets of New York City ?

The credit crunch has prompted women in the U.S.A. to donate their eggs for payment.

If a women was bright, was of a certain religion and her medical history showed no signs of cancer, that woman might earn £15,000.00 for the donation of her eggs.
