£700,000 compensation paid to 19 women.

Health chiefs in Barnsley, England, have paid almost £700,000.00 in compensation to 19 women who had breast surgery which went wrong.

The women who were mostly cancer patients, suffered pain and disfigurement during surgery.

Of the 19 settlements, each victim received about £35,000.00 on average. 

Some patients has opted for reconstructive surgery after mastectomy. 

35 people complained after the NHS Trust set up an advice line for affected patients. Six claims are still outstanding.
