Apple’s 2012 WWDC did not fail to disappoint. The MacBook Air ad the MacBook Pro got upgraded to Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors (up to 2GHz, Core i7). Expect to see systems with up to 8GB RAM, and Solid State Drive sizes will go up to a maximum of 512GB. Systems will also get a single, blue USB 3.0 slot on the MacBooks.
FaceTime got upgraded to FaceTime HD, with picture quality going up to 720p. The 11 inch MacBook Air will start at $999, while the 13-inch model will start at $1199. All but the $999 model are $100 cheaper than they were previously.
The next generation MacBook Pro is super thin at just 0.71 inches. Apple dropped the optical drive and now it only weights 4.46 pounds. It also has the Apple iPad’s Retina display. They have updated the ports, including a new, thinner MagSafe and full on HDMI.
