Kanye West has announced plans to screen his new short art film Cruel Summer at Palm Beach, from the Cannes Film Festival on May 23. The short film is said to be inspired by his upcoming GOOD Music LP project, which has the same title. The new project has been headed by himself but backed by his new found creative firm Donda. 

Kanye is always one to push the boundaries, test unknown waters, and usually does with success. An example of this is the short film entitled Runaway, a 40 minute long short film based heavily on art. It melded ballerina’s with wildlife and hip hop music. The new short film is going to further test Kanye’s artistic talents as it is a 7 screen experience and is debuting in front of film critics, whilst runaway was debuted on MTV, a music television channel. 

Cruel Summer will remain open to the public for two days after its world premiere, and tickets for the film will be available for free on www.kanyewest.com. It will surely be a unique film experience, to add a second to Kanye’s collection, which goes with his numerous shoe designs and music awards.
