Six publishers, including Apple, are in a price fixing probe after a synchronized planned increase in the price of E-books. All publishers pushed up the price of their E-books by as much as 50%. It is believed that the public will be overcharged for E-book downloads, which cost around 10 pounds each.
There will be no surprise that Apple is among the publishers in the probe as they are notorious for having extremely high prices and trying to monopolize the market. This can be seen in their Macbooks as they are seemingly in a league of their own, especially as they are the laptop of choice for most celebrities, although so is the price tag.
