NBA Lockout Ends
The National Basketball Association’s players and owners have come to an agreement early this morning to end the 149 day lockout. There are still some legal issues to be sorted out before the deal is finalized. The NBA state that they are confident these issues will be resolved before Christmas Day. There are now plans for a marquee triple header on December 25th to commence the delayed 2011/12 season. The three games being played are: the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks, followed by Miami at Dallas, and then MVP Derrick Rose and Chicago will visit Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. The League has planned a 66-day season with Free Agency and Training Camps opening on December 9th. They have also commented that they aim to create increased equality in the league, rivaling that of the NFL, where the Green Bay Packers are current champions despite having one of the smallest markets.
